Language

Spanish (Castilian Spanish - Castellano) is the main language in Benidorm. Many people in the region also speak Valenciano (a language similar to Catalan in Barcelona). Because of the large amount of tourists, English is widely understood and spoken.
However, not everyone speaks it, and you'll find people are much more appreciative (and probably give you better service) if you try and muddle through with a bit of Spanish. |
